The Problem With Acetone

Acetone dissolves adhesive by attacking its polymer structure — but it does not discriminate. It attacks the keratin in your hair at the same time. It attacks the polyurethane weft construction. It strips the scalp's natural acid mantle. It fills the room with fumes that have no place in a hair appointment.

Spray the seam
Section the hair to fully expose the tape sandwich. Spray Solvo directly onto the seam where the two tape pieces meet. Saturate the bond — do not be conservative. This is where the chemistry happens.

Wait 60–90 seconds
This is not a suggestion — it is the mechanism. The oil needs time to penetrate and break down the adhesive from the inside out. Applying Solvo and immediately pulling is the leading cause of weft damage during removal. Wait.

Slide — do not pull
Gently slide the weft free. The pieces should release with minimal resistance. If you feel tension — stop. Apply a second spray. Wait another 30 seconds. Never pull against resistance. The hair and the weft will tell you when they are ready.

Add warm water — watch it turn white
This is the part that surprises everyone. Add warm water to the treated area and the golden oil emulsifies instantly into a milky white liquid. It lifts clean off the hair in seconds. No second shampoo. No stripping. No residue. Just clean, conditioned hair ready for reinstallation.
